Auto Recloser Circuit Breaker
- Used for protection of 36kV overhead lines.
- Capable of breaking current like circuit breakers;
- Nominal current (Ir ≤ 800A) and
- Short-circuit currents (Isc ≤ 16kA)
- There are current and voltage sensors inside the hydrophobic epoxy jacket.
- The control unit is equipped with a protection relay and monitoring devices.
- In the event of a temporary line failure, it can open and close up to four times with the O-0.5s-CO-2s-CO-2s-CO cycle, thus avoiding longer network outages .
- As they are outdoor units, they can be mounted on a concrete or steel construction pole.
- Proven suitable for use at -40°C and +55°C to provide long life with extensive testing in accordance with IEC 62271-11.

Recloser circuit breakers are devices installed in overhead lines and transformer stations to avoid prolonged network outages. As circuit breakers, they interrupt continuous service and fault currents, and they can close up to four times. Reducing power outages for the customer and recovering entire parts of a medium voltage network increasingly requires high-speed structures for network communication.
The switching device and a control cabinet well suited to it, located at the operating level, offer a flexible solution for automatic protection and remote control systems, and fulfill the communication requirements of smart grids.
In the new family of reclosers, Siemens provides network protocols such as IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104 or DNP3 TCP. Fast communication between reclosers facilitates extremely fast data exchange. Thus, distribution networks can restore power quickly in the event of a network outage.

- Reliable energy continuity
- Ensure the continuity of energy in the event of temporary breakdowns
- Clearing the system of temporary faults with the auto-reclose function
- Increase the number of additional protection points by splitting long lines
- Reduced downtime
- Reduce revenue losses
- Better learn to exploit
- Event recording and remote control
- No need for the intervention of the operating teams in the event of temporary breakdowns
- Reduced fault detection time in case of permanent faults
- Finding the fault location and reducing operational intervention
- Increased customer satisfaction
- Improved reliability values SAIDI (Average Interruption Time Indicator) SAIFI (Average Interruption Frequency Indicator)
- Reduction in the number of customers affected by the outage
- Others
- Easy to mount on a pole in places that are difficult to access and have problems of expropriation
- A safer working environment for field workers who can be operated remotely by being transferred to SCADA
The protection and control device can be adapted to any recloser circuit breaker application – from highly sophisticated protection functions for maximum selectivity, to monitoring, remote control and improved fault isolation in airline networks.
